Introducing
to basics network.
Computer
network is a network with wireless media cable made by IT experts to provide
"communication" between computers more effectively and efficiently.
This computer network is connected starting from 2 or more computers that are
interconnected with each other to achieve certain goals. For example sharing
resources (printer or file) and surfing the internet. In this case, the methods
used for sharing and information keep changing and growing. This is inversely
proportional to the "human network" which is limited to face-to-face
conversations, media that are successfully captured and captured by
communication. The existence of this computer network innovation makes travel
data and information more widespread and more variables that can help all
sectors of life.
In
the practice of applying a computer network, each part of the computer can
request or receive a service called (the client) and that provides or sends a
service called a server. This pattern is called a client-server system, and is
used in almost all the majority of computer network applications.
*
(additional information, (data) is a raw fact "raw", which has not
been processed and has not been structured and systematic. Whereas (information)
is a collection of data that has been processed, so th at it is structured in a
systematic and accepted by human mind.)
To
support the existence of an adequate computer network in all aspects, we need
to pay attention to these 3 important tools that have been discussed in the
previous language.
- Hardware
Device
(hard) on the computer or device that is visible (visible). Like keyboard,
mouse, monitor, RAM, motherboard, USB, and others.
- Software
The
device (software) on the computer (not visible) is on the computer. Like
Windows, iOS, Microsoft, and others.
- Brainware (pemakainya)
The expertise of a computer user
determines a process, regardless of the use of the hardware or software that
exists. People who are experts in the field of computers are called IT.
Next
we need to know what are the network components. Network components consist of:
·
Computer hardware
- (there is a computer
that connects to the network. Like the NIC, and modem)
-Printer
-Scaner
·
Network devices
-NIC
-Modem
-Hub
-Switch
-Router
-Firewall
·
Media
-Kabel
-Non kabel (wireless)
·
policy
-Protocol
-
All equipment mentioned, must be directly connected (integrated).
-
The equipment needed for connection physically (directly) consists of PC, NIC,
NETWORK MEDIA, REPEATER/HUB/BRIDGE/SWITCH/ROUTER.
There
is a classification of networks that are categorized by distance.
·
Local Area Network (LAN)
-
Oriented in a limited (narrow) area
-
Creating connections between adjacent
equipment
-
Providing fulltime connectivity services
-
Network control under local
administration
·
Metropolitan Area Network (MAN)
-
Covers a wider area of LAN, such as
between regions in one province.
-
Connecting several small networks into a
wider area.
-
Example of application: Bank network
where several branch offices can be integrated with each other.
·
Wide Area Network (WAN)
-
Has an operating area in a large
geographic area
-
Consists of several local network units
in areas that are mutually integrated
-
Relationships between LANs use serial
technology
-
Network equipment is spread over a large
area
Other
types of network technology:
·
SAN (Storage Area Network)
-As
a storage resource on the network
·
VPN (Virtual Private Netwrok)
-A
private network that is built by relying on public network facilities, such as
the internet.
-By
using VPN allows using a public network for the purposes of local networks, of
course, with guaranteed security using a tunnel system.
-There
are 3 types of VPN :
Access
VPN, providing access to the Small Office Home Office (SOHO)
Intranet
VPN, intended for internal pffice connections (used as a remote office)
Extranet
VPN, intended for connections between internal networks and business partners
INTERNET
Including
a network that is a combination of small networks that exist in the world that
joined into a large-scale network in the world. With the same rules it allows
several operating systems to communicate with each other.
A
network connection is required on:
Phisical
connection
-
Pc
-
Network equipment (modem)
Logical connection
-
Protocol
Applications
to open services on the internet (web browser)
